french producers dj deep and traumer pair up for their debut on radio slave’s rekids. a key component in parisian techno since the ‘90s, dj deep’s influence is indisputable whether it’s helming deeply rooted house records, launching his own rotary dj mixer series or his numerous appearances on tresor records alongside gettraum founder roman poncet, who appears on this release as traumer. ‘la valle la b’ comes in three forms. the ‘la deep mix’ is an echoing number complete with rhythmic percussion and rumbling bass, whilst ‘la slave mix’ is a glitchier alternative featuring various subtle nuances and otherworldly atmospherics. finally ‘la spicy mix’ concludes the package with a focus on piercing synths and a compelling groove.

fifty first recordings was created in 1994 out of a small but very productive studio in london called state 51 using the down time and the very talented engineers who had been brought together for state 51 s existing clients. state 51 was the go to studio for the likes of x-press 2, sharp, amalgamation of soundz. the engineers we worked with included mark woolford, james brown, james reynolds & mark yardley. fifty first recordings soon found a name for itself and was very quickly at the forefront of the new generation of uk garage music. we produced and released music in the 90s, for over 7 years, with the likes of tuff jam etc. and later went to develop other imprints such as konnect / test press / unda vybe / spread love / tick etc., some in partnership with producers and managed artists.

deep love is the first vinyl release by stefano pozzi, dj producer and musician. it’s very difficult to define his sound: his creative process led him to merge several genres in a very original way. the artist shows us a great talent combining different electronic styles from deep house to soulful house, new jazz and chill out music. stefano is also a guitar player. with his releases, he shows us how to bring guitar sounds together with electronic music in a brilliant way. in this 12 inch ep, that could be defined as deep house, the artist has worked to merge various elements of house music: the warm sound of a moog organ with a deep drum kick, the use of hypnotic and rhythmic vocal samples, the presence of many jazz and soul contaminations due to the acoustic guitar.

religio is glad to present the first va series of the label rigorosely on vinyl only. a side is from lillo and fulvio ruffert & gregorio serasin, both minimal and deep tunes, lillo s track is more big deep bass and bouncy instead the creature from fulvio and his mate is focused on the mesmering soundscapes and deep dub melodies.. b side is from fnr and kitkalt the fnr tune is very organic and sexy and from his kind of producing very analog stuff taste, kitkalt delivers a more techy track, dark and shiny at the same time, a tune for smashing the dance floor..

a1 nubian mindz - deep in raves: well known for his versatile and rich production, colin delivers once more. with a quite suitable name - deep in raves is just that. a deep plunge into dark and rave-like atmosphere. after a short intro layered with an ominous voice, massive bassline takes over and drives the track through the darkest curves. enriched with short percussions and a synth stab this is quite a stomper best experienced on a good club soundsystem, preferably in the dark. a2 volster - nebula: almost obsessed with audio purity, volster manages to combine new and modern sounds with old-school genre roots. nebula is all about complexity. although it is based on an electro foundations, it s so much more. space filled with an oscillatory synth motion perplexed with smooth pads that gives the impression of an interstellar properties. no detail is left unengaged, from the 808 that keeps everything in motion to the subtle amount of panning. this is a beautifully crafted story by a producer who is slowly but steadily growing into one of the best croatian artists. b1 lucretio - dracula: the most famed beard of cadoneghe/italy has pulled another magic gem from his music source. widely known for his relentless tendency to push the analogue spectrum to it s extreme, lucretio surprises once more with his ability to blend simple pieces into an effective sub storm with almost comic like features. dracula is not your conventional tune and it s pretty obvious why as soon as you put the needle on. broke down rhythm is heavily fueled by polished but enormous sub background with sparse and ¥in your face¥ shots. seemingly random notes take a gloomy and powerful form during the break and soon the lurky atmosphere comes into picture. this is truly brilliance in it s full simplicity. if only bram stoker could hear this, he would probably be both stunned and amused! b2 james booth - jxst do it: one of our goals on vakum is to be on a lookout for a new and promising talents. berlin based james booth surely fits the bill. jxst do it is a seriously crafted track with rich rhythmic section wrapped in a steady build up. after the initial break-beat intro sliced in short chunks, subtle 303 bassline takes over and the rhythmic game begins. booth delivers a perfectly timed cuts accompanied by a diverse palette of percussions. this is a perfect piece for those build up moments in the club..

having already released on mos recordings sub label mos deep before now, stephen lopkin is now back with a second four track effort, due for release in april. the scottish artist has been making prickly house and techno for almost a decade now, and on the four cuts here he once again showcases a serene and slick style.

after kicking off 2016 with the massive don t need ep from callahan featuring that remix from man of-the-moment hodge, dext is back with another banger of an ep from fast rising uk producer mella dee. the man from doncaster, uk has been creating a name for himself on the scene of late with releases on redlight s lobster boy and shy fx s digital soundboy imprint, and his dext debut certainly doesn t disappoint. over the last year or so, he has been masterfully fusing 90 s jungle influences with driving house & techno percussion and his ep for us is, we think, his strongest work to date.
